Solid blocks of bronze are heated to approximately 2,250 degrees Fahrenheit so that they attain a liquid state. The liquid bronze is stirred and the foundry workers carefully carry the liquid bronze out of the heating furnace. The workers are required to wear protective gear such as face shields, clothes, gloves and boots. The workers then pour the bronze solution into a shell where it is left to cool for some hours. The negative space between the shells turns into a bronze casting. This is how bronze sand casting is usually done.
